I'm Okan Bilal, an engineer and researcher working on local-first AI tools. Currently prototyping a project called Oth at True Laurel with my friends. Our research focuses on the intersection of language and human-computer interaction.

I'm an I.T.U. alum with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Previously, I worked at Feeld as a Senior Frontend Engineer on a project basis, contributing to the development of the brand new release(v8.0). Before that, I was a Founding Software Engineer at Metavest.

I wonder if it’s possible to transform the internet from a stagnant lake into a vast ocean filled with interconnecting streams that thrive through openness. I have authored an article discussing this particular subject.

Alongside my work I run a book club focused on reading and discussing materials about software architecture.
